Jan 09, 2020 • Toyota Cars & Trucks.(YIKE!) my ODB II scanner says codes 7E8 and 7E9. 7E8: Engine, 'no code stored in module' 7E9: A/T, PO882 TCM power input signal low turned off car. wouldnt start because battery was still too weak. jumped car again. this time i let the car sit idle for 20min. check engine light still on but transmission light is off. same readings with OBD II ...What are the sub menus for these codes $7E8 n $7E9 my code reader will not pull them up ? need help 2005 Chysler 300 Limited 3.5 engine . will not start or turn over will just click . Help thanks David in needMar 30, 2020 · The engine light came on and we checked the codes and the code came up $7E8 and $7EA. we believe these are generic codes and the $ could be optional. 7E8, 7EA. Cat failure. - Check the health of catalytic converter. - Check for cracks in muffler. - Check air leaks. 7E8 and 7E9 these are not codes what they are are system 7E8 is for the engine powertrain and 7E9 is for the transmission powertrain, go to the menu 7E8 if it list a DTC (diagnostic trouble code) select it, and it would read a P code such as P0XXX or P1XXX same The codes are a menu of systems that the OBDII scanner can access. OBDII scanner interprets the codes and displays the menu. Some scanners can't solve these codes and show the codes instead of the interpretation. Clicking on the code menu will read the OBDII codes (e.g. P0420 or P0455), if any, from that system.
